Independence has worked with Nashville Hub for more than a year to develop a three-year plan to make its career academies more accessible in both its district and the Kansas City metropolitan area. Nashville Hub’s partnership helped bring senior business, education, and civic leaders together to focus on the common goal of supporting the students.

The students in Independence are already reaping the benefits of the guidance from Nashville Hub and the Academy model, for they are seeing real options for their futures. After Independence hosted a career fair for its Freshman, the community was energized and had the following to say. Then you can watch a video from the Career Fair.

I’m so happy we’ve had so much interest from businesses throughout the metro to become partners in our Career Academies. We are excited about the partnerships and very appreciative of the time these industry leaders are spending with our students.Superintendent Dr. Dale Herl
