Heather is the Vice President of Operations for Alignment Nashville and Alignment USA. She is a graduate of Belmont University and joined Alignment Nashville in 2012 after having worked in children’s health for over twelve years. Her experience includes non-profit management, medical practice management, volunteer management and grant writing. While working with a regional, multi-office pediatric practice, Heather implemented a program to provide incentives to employees for volunteering in their communities and was instrumental in the creation of the practice’s non-profit foundation. As director of a non-profit foundation dedicated to children’s health, she implemented a program designed to provide health and wellness education to families in faith-based and community centers. Heather is proud to be a Reading is Fundamental (RIF) volunteer in MNPS Elementary Schools.
Starr Herrman is recognized for her work with high school transformation, and particularly, the academy model. She was instrumental in planning, directing and implementing the smaller learning communities/academies model for the Metro Nashville Public School system from 2006 to 2012. She is a former high school teacher, CTE Director and IT manager.
Since retirement in 2012, Starr remains active in the school system, working on contract to help transform middle schools. She serves as director of the Nashville Ford Next Generation Learning (NGL) Hub, serves on the Ford NGL Leadership Council, consults with many districts across the U.S. in high school transformation and is a National Career Academy Coalition accreditation reviewer.
Starr has been published and quoted in various articles and journals, presented at national conferences, webinars, and is passionate about the academy model.
LP joined the Alignment Nashville team in 2017 as the Nashville Hub Project Manager. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, she has resided in Nashville for 3 years now. LP received her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from Bradley University and then went on to receive her Master of Education in College Student Affairs and Leadership from Grand Valley State University. Since graduating, the majority of her professional experience has been within the Higher Education field.
